Pickart Plastic Surgery

Before Your Augmentation:
5 Things to Consider

  • Implant type: Silicone or saline filled? Smooth or textured shell? Low, moderate, or high profile projection? Round or teardrop shape?
  • Implant size
  • Implant pocket: Above or below the pectoralis major muscle?
  • Incision location: In the fold under the breast, around the areola, in the armpit, or through the bellybutton?
  • The lift: A "tuck" above the areola? A "dough-nut" incision around the areola? A vertical "lollipop" incision? A full "anchor" incision?

All patients deserve a customized approach. What your friend had done may not be right for you! Together, we will help you formulate a plan to meet your goals and produce a terrific result.

Tell Us What You're Looking For

  • Interested in looking like you did when you were pregnant—a cup size bigger?
  • Looking for two cup sizes?
  • Want the smallest possible incision?
  • Prefer the natural feel of silicone implants?
  • Just looking for a lift?

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, breast augmentation is the most popular surgery performed by Board Certified Plastic Surgeons. Breast lifting is the seventh most popular surgery.

Safe, Satisfying Results

  • Contrary to the experiences of women in the 1980s and early 1990s, 21st century breast implants are safe.
  • Breast augmentation surgery has very high satisfaction rates.
  • Breast implants (even when filled with silicone) do not lead to connective tissue disorders, such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or fibromyalgia.
  • Breast implants do not cause breast cancer.
  • Breast implants do not make breast cancer more difficult to detect or treat.
  • Our breast operations are performed in accredited surgical facilities where patients are put to sleep by Board Certified Anesthesiologists. Safety and high quality are our priorities.
