Botox® Injections:
Our Most Popular Procedure

What is Botox®?

Botox® is a natural muscle relaxant. It works by blocking signals between nerves and muscles. Since a muscle injected with Botox® cannot "hear" the nerve's command to contract, the muscle doesn't move. It is effectively paralyzed.

Shape and Restore

For wrinkles that are caused by excessive motion, Botox® is a solution. It is the only treatment of its type that has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the temporary improvement of the frown lines between the eyebrows. Botox® has also been successfully used to smooth the horizontal lines on the forehead and the "crow's feet" radiating from the sides of the eyes, among other regions.

Since many facial wrinkles are caused by over-active muscles, Botox® is particularly exciting because it treats their cause. By relaxing muscle contractions, not only can Botox® erase some wrinkles right away but can also prevent other lines from forming over time.

Botox® — A Safe Solution for Regular People

In 2006, Botox® was used by over 4 million Americans to treat facial wrinkles. Botox® is the most common physician-administered cosmetic procedure nation-wide, and the most frequently performed cosmetic procedure at Pickart Plastic Surgery, Inc.

Dr. Pickart has over a decade of medical and surgical training including professional experience with Botox® injections. To learn more about the side effects, results, and limitations of Botox®, request a personalized consultation.
